The organisation WEC Lines is a dynamic medium-sized maritime transport organisation specialising in container transport. With +50 years of experience, our services mainly concentrate on Belgium, Germany, England, Portugal, Spain, the Canary Islands and North and East Africa. Our head office is in Rotterdam and we also have branches in Hamburg, Antwerp, Barcelona, Nairobi and Mombasa.
At the head office in Rotterdam, we are looking for an: Intermodal Transport Coordinator (full-time).
In this versatile and independent position:
You are responsible for efficiently planning, coordinating and optimising intermodal transport activities.
You ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods to customers.
You supervise the administrative procurement process for container transport in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
You register transport agreements with WEC's carrier in our planning system.
You send out weekly statements to suppliers.
You monitor additional costs on the cost and revenue side.
You keep the CMR administration up to date.
You are the lynchpin/point of contact between transport planning, customer service and the finance department of WEC Lines.
You have an active role in process and system improvements around the planning and administrative system.
You perform follow-up checks and analyses on transport costs and KPIs.
You contribute to development and process improvement.
You lead negotiations and conclude commercial agreements with suppliers, in consultation with the General Manager.
Profile MBO+ working and thinking level with at least a completed education preferably in logistics.
Working experience with road transport in Benelux and Germany; container or trailer transport is an advantage.
You are enterprising and proactive.
You are a self-starter and enjoy continuously exploring opportunities.
You are collegial and at the same time able to work independently.
Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
Affinity with transport (planning) systems, such as TOPS is an advantage.
Excellent organisational and planning skills.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Insight into geographical locations and route networks.
Stress resistant and ability to work under pressure.
Flexibility to respond quickly to changing circumstances.
