The Foundation for International Education (www.fie.org.uk) is an international higher education organisation with over 25 years of expertise in developing and managing experiential learning experiences.Working in partnership with universities and colleges, primarily from the US, we provide immersive study abroad programmes for undergraduate students in London, Dublin, Madrid, Barcelona and Amman.FIE is currently seeking qualified, enthusiastic and confident applicants for the following full-time, permanent position within the Institutional Relations Team.Job Title:Institutional Relations ManagerLocation:RemoteSalary:Commensurate upon experience.Start Date:September 1, 2024Application deadline:Rolling until filled.The basic purpose and primary objectives of this position are:The Institutional Relations Manager serves as a member of FIE's US-based Institutional Relations Team and applies in-depth program development and marketing skills to meet the needs of current FIE partners, grow new and existing partnerships, and develop new affiliations. The successful candidate will enjoy the challenges of developing existing and building new relationships, meeting deadlines, achieving goals, being responsive to the needs of colleagues, maintaining awareness of US higher education developments, and contributing to FIE's growth and business development. This role is fully remote in the US.Duties and responsibilities include:1. New Partner and Program Development – 30%a. Leverage market research, industry data and trends, and competitive intelligence to develop strategic sales plans to identify opportunities for growth.b. Successfully represent the value of partnering with FIE as a high quality, not-for-profit international education organization to US university staff and faculty.c. Represent FIE to the US international education community as highly skilled in consultative and collaborative academic program delivery, with expertise in academic internship and service internship programs, hybrid and direct-enrol semester programs, faculty-led programs, freshman programs, and independent student enrolment.d. Collaborate with potential partner institutions in the development of programs with FIE to help them meet their internationalization goals.2. Partner Relationship Management and Growth – 25%a. Develop trusted relationships as the lead liaison with colleagues at FIE partner institutions.b. Manage and grow relationships with FIE partner institutions through events including study abroad fairs, class presentations, information tables, prospective student and alumni meetings, pre-departure orientations as well as informal lunches or dinners.c. Create, implement and monitor partner-specific sales strategies to:i. Increase enrolment;ii. Expand on-campus support among key departments and administrators;iii. Encourage adoption of other FIE programs as approved programs;iv. Increase participation of underrepresented students and alleviate barriers to participation.d. Working in conjunction with colleagues, support the sales pipeline from lead generation and engagement through to enrolment ensuring timely follow-up and communication throughout.3. Regional and National Outreach – 15%a. Expand FIE's regional profile by identifying key venues (conferences, meetings, etc.) for regional networking and cultivation opportunities.b. Represent FIE at various international education conferences, presenting on panels and engaging in leadership roles within these organizations.4. Internal and External Communications – 10%a. Work as a team with other members of the US based Institutional Relations Teamb. Work collaboratively with colleagues at all FIE locations to ensure we communicate clearly and effectively to meet our partners' needs.c. Communicate regularly via email, phone and personal contact with students, parents and university colleagues to keep them up to date on FIE.d. Develop, maintain and communicate in-depth knowledge of FIE programs.e. Serve as an informed and accessible contact for FIE partners and prospective partners.5. Marketing and Engagement – 10%a. Working collaboratively with US staff, provide and anticipate recruitment and marketing needs to implement approved marketing strategies and plans.b. Provide customized materials for concentration-based conferences and events, outside of FIE's standard print publications.c. In collaboration with FIE's marketing team, support US-based efforts through digital initiatives and promotional email workflows for potential students and partners.d. Engage with the review cycle of FIE digital communications to ensure accuracy.6. Administration and Data Management – 10%a. Track sales and growth performance metrics on an institutional basis, analyze and report to inform decision making against strategic plansb. Renew partnership agreements and update partners annually on FIE dates and fees.c. Ensure that assigned institutional and individual contacts are accurate and complete.d. Ensure that information on FIE webpages is accurate and up to date.e. Ensure that information on partner webpages, including Terra Dotta and ViaTRM listings, is accurate and up to date.f. Review/edit of US brochures/publications.g. Create and adhere to annual expense budget and submit monthly expense reports.7. Domestic and International Travela. Travel 10 to 12 weeks per semester within the US to undertake:i. promotion of FIE to current and prospective university partners through campus visits, meetings, study abroad fairs and information sessions;ii. attendance at conferences as required or assigned;iii. annual in-person Institutional Relations team meeting.b. Travel overseas as needed for site visits and meetings, estimated 1 to 2 trips per year.8.
