JOB PURPOSE
Perform field inspection works and provide technical support in all activities related to testing and inspection of static equipment along with conducting Non-Destructive Testing to assess the condition of pipes and equipment in order to ensure business continuity.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Inspection and Technical Support
- Perform on-stream and off-stream inspection activities in line with Inspection Procedures, HSE Management System, Maintenance and Inspection Policies.
- Execute and interpret all Non-Destructive Testing activities to assess and identify the condition of newly fabricated or in service equipment and pipes.
- Follow-up on the execution of repairs and modifications/PCR's, materials' selection, welding, painting, insulation and wrapping activities.
- Assist in the estimations of scaffolding/insulation scope requirements to facilitate implementing the inspection tasks. Prepare the inspection reports in the Inspection Data Management system for further reviews and approval.
- Coordinate the maintenance and updating of Inspection Team Work Orders in the MAXIMO Maintenance Management System.
- Prepare the required documentation for the scope of works and issue the Welding Inspection and Control Sheets for further reviews.
- Perform/witness relevant test requirements prior to final approval.
- Participate in identifying areas of concern and in conducting the necessary analyses, and recommend the remedial measures.
- Inspect the newly procured materials for static assets and/or components in contact with the process fluid and verify their compliance with the technical specifications, inspection, and certification requirements. Make the necessary supervision for the materials' preservation whenever required.
- Participate in failure analysis and RCA, as required.
- Participate, as required, in the inspection of portable equipment similar to typical static assets when mobilised by external contractors for performing the assigned work inside the plant.
- Arrange the samples' collection related to inspection activities in coordination with the Operations Department.
- Participate in projects commissioning activities to highlight the concerns for remedial actions.
- Monitor the cathodic protection (CP) system and provide the necessary recommendation for corrective actions, if required.Supervision
- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives.Budgets
- Provide input for preparation of the Section / Team / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver functional objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Implement approved Section / Team / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.
- Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Minimum Qualification
Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgy Technology, or an equivalent Professional Qualification.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 5 years of experience in inspection activities related to static equipment and piping within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Technical expertise in understanding and interpreting codes, standards, and inspection methods.
- Experience in QA/QC systems and procedures.
- Strong knowledge on ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), penetrant testing (PT), and radiography (RT).
- Knowledge of advanced NDT methods and inspection management systems.
- Knowledge of API 579, 580, NACE, and NBIC. (Preferable)
- Knowledge of design, fabrication, metallurgy, welding, and standards associated with the inspection of Plants' equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of inspection best practices and technology trends.
- Planning and organising, scheduling and co-ordinating, checking, examining and recording.
- Knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment including: compressors, pumps, turbine generators, and packaged skid equipment (Preferable).
Professional Certifications
- Valid Plant Inspector, API 510, API 570, and API 653 or an equivalent qualification.
- Valid CSWIP/AWS or equivalent qualification.
- Valid NDT Level 2 qualification for UT, MT, PT, RT or an equivalent qualification. (Preferable)
- Valid Level-1 Coating Inspector qualification. (Preferable)
