.Job PurposeThe Inspector performs basic and or complex inspection work depending on his experience in petroleum, petrochemical, gas, grain, oils and fats terminals and refineries; also performs inspection work on board barges and ships following industry standards and the procedures published by API, Fosfa, Gafta and Saybolt.General ResponsibilitiesInspectors shall assist other inspectors from the department and Operations department in their responsibility duties at the location. Inspectors are responsible for the efficient work within the location to meet client needs accurately and in time. Inspectors may work at different locations and on offshore operations as requested by the company. The functions to be developed by the Inspectors are mainly included within the port activity and sometimes offshore on high seas, so that the development and fulfillment of the functions of the description of each Job, including the specific service of standby, constitute a function of the job and are carried out within the ordinary working day, as long as they are carried out as effective working time.Inspectors are responsible for running the operation at the lowest possible costs, while meeting the requirements for safety, quality of service and maintenance of assets. Inspector I must ensure full cooperation with his department and his Managers on all assignments.Must follow all company procedures as established by Saybolt and Core Laboratories, including but not limited to HSE Manual, Accounting Policies & Procedures, Saybolt Administration Instruction Letter, IT procedures, Ethics Policy, Saybolt Compliance Code, etc. Must keep himself updated and aware of all updates and act accordingly.Inspectors report directly to the Operations department.CompetenciesJobs requiring autonomous execution, usually reasoning initiative by the workers responsible for their execution, acting under supervision or without it, as well as the basic use of the English language needed to perform the job.Perform visual cleanliness inspections of tanks including entering confined spaces.Verify the accuracy of measurement and sampling equipment.Work safely in the presence of hazardous materials as defined in the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheets.Take product measurements and samples; accurately and promptlyperform related calculations; complete required reports and forms clearly and promptly; perform inventories; do non-petroleum or chemical inspection assignments.Perform other inspection department duties assigned by the Manager or Coordinator.Exercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in Saybolt procedures manuals, the Global Safety Manual, and Core Laboratories/Saybolt company policies.Attend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical, Fosfa, Gafta and gas inspection procedures, including Right-to-Know training, hazardous materials transportation, and other safety training required by applicable regulations
