We are hiring a highly motivated salesperson. You will be based in London with periodic travel throughout the UK and Europe.
You are a sales professional with demonstrable success calling on senior executives in the Energy and/or chemical industry and related market segments, offering a unique value proposition, delivering solutions specific to customer needs, whether identified by the potential client or through the discovery process executed by the Sales Associate.

Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones company, enables stakeholders in the global chemical industry to improve operational efficiency with deep insights, future outlooks, price discovery, and consultation from a celebrated team of subject matter experts.
We offer short- and long-term market coverage for more than 200 core building-block chemicals with a full suite of advisory services and top-tier events held around the globe.
The worldwide chemical industry looks to Chemical Market Analytics to guide decisions and help manage risk across the entire value chain.
You must have strong closing skills, be extremely persistent, be willing to prospect, work well without supervision, be highly money motivated, and be effective at building relationships. You should have keen listening skills, be adept at asking probing questions, be assertive but not aggressive, and possess outstanding phone and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of business economics and comfort discussing value propositions with customers is required. In addition, the following attributes are key to this role:
A track record of success in Account Management, growth, and new business generation
A detailed knowledge of the sales cycle
Experience of selling subscription services
Eagerness to understand the Chemical Market Analytics value proposition and those of the wider OPIS Energy portfolio
You will:
Follow up on sales enquiries within agreed time frames to open sales opportunities
Schedule review calls, renewal calls, and customer queries
Initiate and answer sales calls for Chemical Market Analytics and OPIS products and services
Conduct telephone conversations to identify and qualify prospective customers and record sales prospecting activity in CRM systems
Prioritise customer satisfaction
Develop/implement a clear strategy to exceed quota
Develop knowledge of the sales value proposition of Chemical Market Analytics and OPIS services and products and how they fit into the business requirements of our clients
Develop relationships with assigned customers to ensure long-term partnerships
Maintain existing client base as well as sales into new accounts
Prepare and submit accurate sales reporting and forecasting
Achieve specific monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quota
Generate referrals and new business leads
Respond to customer calls regarding a specific set of products and services and identify up-selling opportunities for such calls
Grow revenue at existing and new clients
You Have:
Demonstrable experience of managing end-to-end sales for new and renewal business
Knowledge and genuine interest in the Energy industry
Organisational efficiency and multi-tasking skills
A collaborative, team-focused mentality
Strong oral and written communication skills in English and German (preferred)
Maturity, confidence, and self-motivation with a passion for selling
