Love Games? Bi/multi-lingual in languages? Join US! Universally Speaking (US) is a world-class partner to the games industry – it is our responsibility to ensure that the game is ready for release. Our customers trust us to make sure that their amazing Indie or AAA games are perfect before they are made available to gamers. We are excited to announce that following our 11 years of success in the UK, we are opening a studio in Madrid. If you think you may have some of the skills listed in this job advertisement, we encourage you to apply!
If you are interested in being part of this exciting project, please apply, and we will share the next steps to complete the recruitment process.
What will you do? Play and test the games. Literally. But we need you to be thorough in your approach to testing games. As a perfectionist, you will find linguistic bugs and report these back using a bug database, communicating across global boundaries in a clear manner, which is why it is important that you can communicate in clear English.
The role will suit candidates who can work from Monday to Friday full-time on a day shift, typically starting at 9:00 am. This is an onsite role; your presence in the office will be required. Our office will be located in Alvento Business Park, Vía de los Poblados, 1-3, 28033, Madrid.
What would you do at work? Your job is to ensure games and applications provide the best user experience by being linguistically bug-free.
Check in-game text for linguistic accuracy, correctness, and adherence to cultural rules. Learn how to follow the Universally Speaking LQA process and professional standards, which we have optimized over the years to be the best in the industry. Use a variety of industry-standard bug databases to write detailed bug reports that establish you as someone who is trusted and cares about making games better. Reporting issues is where it starts, but you will also have ownership to ensure that bugs have been fixed and implemented correctly. You will become the LQA Expert across a broad range of Indie to AAA projects, focusing on areas of specialization. You will own, manage, create, and regularly execute test cases throughout the project life cycle, including documenting testing practices, LQA processes, and reporting methods. You will actively participate in test requirement gathering with developers to ensure Localisation QA effectively tests and supports all features of the project. You will look for ways to make improvements, take ownership of additional activities, and create efficiencies in your work. Cooperate with the QA team. Measures of Performance: Quality, velocity, and precision of bug reports. On-time delivery. Teamwork and communication. Continuous improvement and knowledge of LQA workflow and techniques. You are a great match if you: Are an expert in Brazilian Portuguese. Have proficiency in written and spoken English. Are passionate about video games. Are a team player, with the ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.
