Join our team and build the future of space technology. We are expanding our team at Alén Space, and we are looking for a Space Mechanical Systems Engineer; passionate about what you do, talented and experienced; to lead our Mission Control Center team and help build the future of space technology. The candidate will work on various small satellite missions within the company's Space Missions area.
This area is responsible for all tasks related to the mechanical and structural design of satellites, including modeling, simulation and analysis of components and structures using advanced design tools.Throughout this process, the selected person will actively participate in key activities such as the detailed design of satellite mechanical subsystems, the development of optimized structures for launch and space, component integration, and the creation of 3D models and assemblies.
In addition, the candidate will collaborate in the validation of the design through finite element analysis and physical testing, ensuring compliance with technical and mission requirements.
He/she will also work closely with other engineering teams toensure compatibility between the different satellite subsystems and optimize structural and thermal performance.Additionally, the candidate will be able to offer support in areas related to mission analysis when necessary.
This will include activities such as the selection of physical components for the chosen architecture, the definition of mission and technical specifications for all subsystems, and support in their acquisition.
He/she will also participate in the analysis of system performance and the management of technical budgets, as well as in the management of internal and external interfaces for all mission elements.
What you will be doing?
The Space Mechanical Systems Engineer will be responsible for: Modeling, simulating and analyzing satellite components and structuresDesigning detailed satellite mechanical subsystems ensuring compliance with mission requirements.Develop optimized structures to withstand launch and space environment conditions.Create 3D models and assemblies of satellite components.Integrate satellite components, ensuring compatibility between different subsystems.Validate the design through finite element simulations.Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize the structural and thermal performance of the satellite.Ensure compliance with the technical and regulatory requirements of the mission.Provide multi-skilled support in the following tasks:? Select physical components for the chosen architecture.? Define mission and technical specifications for all subsystems.? Manage internal and external interfaces for all mission elements.
What do we need in our team Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanics or related discipline. At least 2 years of previous experience in the mechanical and structural design of satellites or in the aerospace industry (preferably in small satellite projects).Knowledge and proficiency in advanced modelling and simulation tools such as SOLIDWORKS.Fluent English (written and spoken). The following qualifications and skills will also be desirable:Practical experience with nanosatellite missions, including assembly, integration, testing and operations.Familiarity with space regulations and standards (ECSS, NASA, etc.
).Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with other engineers. The applicant should have good communication skills and should be able to work autonomously and effectively, whilst cooperating in a potentially international and culturally diverse team.In addition, the applicant should have good analytical, organisational and reporting skills; together with a proactive attitude towards individual problem solving and an interest in technological development.
Candidate qualifications and skills Work remotely 60 % of the time Flexible start/finish times; reduced intensive working hours on Fridays and in summer Monday to Friday.
Competitive compensation with ongoing reviews, flexible compensation .
Wellbeing program: Health, dental, and accident insurance; free fruit and coffee, free lunch every friday and much more!
Personalized career plan development, training, and language learning support Very committed to inclusion and diversity; we promote equal opportunities in recruitment If you like what you read, then we might have a match.
This is the culture we want to have and keep building.
So, if that's also your case, let's get to know each other!
