Job OverviewUnder minimal supervision, provide published information to support company associates and external clients as specified in contracts. Utilize subject expertise and information technology skills to search a wide array of bibliographic/full text databases to successfully complete literature requests.
Essential FunctionsGet enquiries from internal and external customers and respond to them.Assure accuracy and timeliness of adverse event reports on human safety.Contribute to projects and initiatives aligned with strategic directions.Reply to written and oral enquiries from internal and external customers.Get, document, and report spontaneously of possible adverse drug reactions.Assess and summarize published medical and scientific literature.Create and adhere to departmental and corporate policies and quality standards.Offer product information support within the Drug Information Center and Medical Information Department.Ensure complete and balanced medical information.Utilize subject knowledge and information technology to perform extensive searches on numerical/bibliographic/full text databases, the web, and the department's collection. Complete literature requests in a timely and accurate manner. Analyze literature results for relevancy.Prepare and distribute business news alerts at agreed frequency and within agreed subject areas using appropriate business and marketing information sources.Serve as the information professional on project teams when requested.Identify and evaluate appropriate vendors for products/services. Recommend vendors to management and participate in the vendor contract negotiation process.Implement, maintain, and lead training classes on end-user databases.Contribute to the local department intranet site.Participate in department's strategic marketing initiatives.QualificationsBachelor's Degree (Bachelor/advanced degree in biomedical or life science required). 2 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training & experience.
