DEIMOS is looking for an Image Data Analyst to join the Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision (AICV) Competence Centre of the Avionics Business Unit, within the Flight Systems Directorate.
The Data Analyst will support the APPIDE product line, focusing on pre- and post-processing within the machine learning (ML) processing chain.
The primary responsibility will be managing raw Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) imagery of solar plants, ensuring it is properly prepared and processed for machine learning models.
The candidate will also collaborate with UAV operators to ensure image collection meets our standards.
Location: Selected candidates will have the option to work in any of the following Deimos sites they are legally entitled to work in.
Harwell (UK) Madrid (Spain) Duties: The main responsibilities are: Perform pre-processing tasks such as evaluating, cleaning, labelling, and preparing UAV imagery for machine learning models.
Conduct post-processing activities, including quality evaluation, report generation, and any required post-labelling to ensure the final data is accurate and usable.
Collaborate with UAV operators to ensure data collection adheres to technical specifications.
Generate reports on data quality and model output performance, providing insights to improve processes.
Education: A degree in a suitable area 3+ years of relevant industry experience may be considered as substitute Professional Experience: This is a junior position.
Senior candidates will also be considered.
Technical Requirements: Required: Experience in handling and preparing large image datasets for machine learning, including cleaning, labelling, and quality control.
Ability to evaluate processed data quality, generate reports, and ensure data consistency.
Strong organizational skills for managing data, with attention to detail.
Good communication skills to coordinate with UAV operators and internal teams.
Highly Desirable: Understanding of Machine Learning and Computer Vision techniques.
Experience working on image processing projects.
Experience with UAV imagery or solar plant data (preferred but not mandatory).
Familiarity with basic data processing tools such as Python or Excel.
Language Skills: Good level of English, spoken and written.
