Position SummaryThe Project Controls Manager will provide guidance and support for Worley's expanding project controls capability.
Depending on assignments, he or she will lead the team of Cost Control Engineers and Planning Engineers assigned to the same project.
The Project Controls Manager reports both to the Project Manager/Director and to the Manager of Project Services.
This is a HO position in Madrid.
Some travels may be required for KOM, status meeting, etc.
Working from home is acceptable (depending on Client requirements).
Fiscal residency in Spain is mandatory.
Specific AccountabilitiesInterfacing with cost estimating.Cost control engineering.Project scheduling.Change management.Cost and schedule progress reporting.Identification and recruitment of project controls personnel.Implementation of suitable systems, processes, tools and procedures.Custodianship of project controls systems, processes and tools.Reviewing, auditing and improving project controls activities on specific projects.Demonstration of project controls capability in the areas of cost control and scheduling to existing and potential clients (business development).Assistance in Proposals preparation.Sourcing, development and mentoring of project controls specialists.Team coaching/sponsorship.Project controls manager assignments.Primary ResponsibilitiesRead and understand relevant Contract sections regarding SOW, interfaces, requirements and specific Project Controls external applicable procedures.Engage with PM and Project team to translate contractual SOW into a detailed list of activities.Engage with PM and Project team to assign relative weightages to the activities as per requested level of detailed.Agree with PM and Client applicable progress measurement rules.Lead and develop with the Project team a detailed schedule baseline.Coordinate with external stakeholders (partners, vendors, subcontractors, Client) the integration of all parties' schedules in an overall project master schedule.Produce baseline progress "S" curves from list of activities, assigned weights, progress steps and schedule dates.Follow up Project development and obtain progress updates regularly and complying with the requested timings.Promptly advise PM of deviations against the baseline.Closely monitor CPM and float, and analyze impact of any potential disruptor event or variation orders.Closely monitor cost data and compare this against the cost baseline, identifying cost deviations, determining ETC and calculating EAC.Execute Earned Value Management analysis and obtain CPI and SPI.Closely follow up job cost, certification, invoicing and cash-flow.Closely monitor interfaces with other parties and promptly advise PM of any impact of any party on the others.Assist PM and Project team in the evaluation of potential variation orders, analyzing effects on schedule and cost.Assist PM and Project team in any other matter related with project status reporting, planning, scope management, risk management and claims or back-claims.Assist Sales team in the development of schedules for proposals.Qualifications & ExperienceUniversity degree or equivalent professional experience in areas such as engineering, construction, energy, petrochemicals, oil and gas, or similar.Relevant experience in the areas Cost Control and Planning working in big projects.
Minimum, the last 5 years as Project Controls Manager.Advance user of Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Netpoint is a plus.Familiar with Montecarlo analysis for risk management.Advance user of Excel spreadsheets.
Power BI is a plus.Very high level of English is a must, both spoken and written (will have to produce high management narrative reports and live presentations to different stakeholders).High level of Spanish will be a plus (desirable but not exclusive).Certification in project management from a worldwide recognized institution will be a plus (PMI, IPMA, AACEi, Prince 2).Essential SkillsPro-active team player.Demonstrated leadership capability.Excellent presentation skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an excellent eye for detail.Ability to deal with conflicting priorities in a busy environment.High resilience.Very analytical.
