Led by a Senior Management Team respected as Thought Leaders within the industry, we help our clients shape, define, and implement change in energy markets.You will be working at the forefront of the energy sector alongside market specialists with deep industry knowledge where you will be able to deploy and then broaden your skillset and sector expertise:Providing economic, commercial, and strategic consulting services to energy companies, financial institutions, governments, and regulators.Providing qualitative market research, energy market insights, and stakeholder management to support market entry strategies and other bespoke strategic advisory engagements.Performing detailed quantitative analysis on revenue perspectives across the different energy markets for renewable assets in the context of valuations for mergers and acquisitions.Optimizing power generation portfolios and asset dispatch, and developing hedging strategies for vertically integrated energy operations.Providing advisory and support to developers, investors, and lenders seeking to understand the value generated through the deployment of standalone/co-located flexible energy resources.Adjusted to your grade/experience, supporting business development prospects, from building our brand presence and engaging with key clients in Iberia, to identifying/originate consulting opportunities and writing proposals.Your skills and experienceWe are looking for candidates experienced in the Iberian Peninsula (Spain, Portugal) to join our industry-leading Power Market Advisory Team.
You will be well versed in the economic fundamentals of Iberian wholesale electricity markets.
Detailed experience in the analysis of Flexible Energy Resources such as batteries, pumped storage hydro, and demand side response will be a plus.The ideal candidates will have experience in some of the following:Demonstrated background (subject to candidate's grade/experience) as market advisor in the Iberian power market, encompassing market fundamentals, design, policy, regulation, and commercial structures.Analytical skills applied to wholesale electricity market fundamentals and market modelling.Experience in assessing value across one or multiple asset types in the power generation sector, from renewables to gas to storage assets.Experience in commercial structures, assessing routes to market for power generation assets, and designing business models in energy markets.The ability to take ownership and deliver results in client-facing environments.Demonstrate project management, business acumen, analytical capabilities, and excellence in people management and career development.Excellent communication skills, being able to provide clear recommendations to advise on and appraising different forms of power generation in Spain and globally.Flexibility and ability to shuffle different priorities within a fast-paced environment.Essential: advanced (C1) language skills in Spanish and English; and additional languages a plus.What a career at Baringa will give youPutting People First.Baringa is a People First company and wellbeing is at the forefront of our culture.
