SCIBSCIB is looking for a Technical Specialist in Database PostgreSQL, based in our Malaga.

YOU WILL BE DOINGAs a Technical Specialist in Database PostgreSQL, you will help us in different fronts:
Architect, implement, and maintain high-performance PostgreSQL databases.Database Management: Design, implement, and manage robust PostgreSQL database systems to ensure data accuracy, security, and high availability installations.Collaborate with the development team to ensure the continuous improvement of the platform.Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain data security measures, ensuring compliance with all regulations.Backup and Recovery: Develop and execute reliable backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data in PostgreSQL databases.Database Upgrades: Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations (Oracle to PostgreSQL) while minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.EXPERIENCEExperience: More than 5 years in previously described or similar functions.
EDUCATIONSoftware Engineering or equivalent required.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGEExtensive experience in Database management:
- Expertise in managing PostgreSQL databases, including administration, optimization, and high availability configurations.
- Experience in database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Experience implementing high availability systems by setting up either streaming replication or logical replication and decoding.
- Understand automation concepts to speed up the work using Ansible.
- Knowledge in DevOps environments, including Ansible, GitHub, Rundeck.
- Spoken and written English (B2-C1).
