WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING As a Digital Channel Development Manager, you will be in the Digital Strategy Team, responsible for leading a development team in the private banking industry.
You will collaborate with business and other areas to understand client requirements and expectations, manage, and optimize the development process, and ensure, in coordination with other IT&Ops areas, the successful delivery of high-quality and secure software solutions.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise and project management skills to oversee the integration and optimization of digital systems and excellent relationship management with team, clients, and external providers.
We need someone like you to help us in different fronts: Software development oversight Provide technical guidance and expertise to the development team, ensuring the use of best practices and adherence to coding standards and tools.
Review and assess software design and architecture to ensure scalability, resilience, security, and efficiency.
Collaborate with the development team in the development, testing, deployment, and support of the software applications.
Carry out and coordinate security and compliance audits with internal and external partners.
Team leadership and management Lead a team of software developers and consultants, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
Lead cross-functional teams that are part of the overall development team: business analyst, UX expert, Architecture lead, BackEnd lead, and Operations.
Assign and prioritize tasks and set clear objectives for the development team.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and sharing best practices.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Project Planning and Execution Develop project plans, estimation of timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables.
Coordinate with stakeholders, business analysts, quality assurance, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, resolve or escalate any issues or bottlenecks that may arise.
Ensure adherence to project scope, requirements, IT standards and controls, budget, and timelines.
Stakeholders Management Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, building and maintaining strong relationships.
Collaborate with other stakeholders to understand business needs, goals, and technical and non-technical requirements.
Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on project progress, address any concerns, and manage client expectations.
Oversee and manage vendor solutions and services that provide technology to BSI digital channels.
Continuous Improvement Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development.
Identify opportunities to improve development processes, tools, and methodologies.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
EXPERIENCE - Minimum of 5-8 years direct experience with 3+ years of management experience.
EDUCATION - Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE - Proven experience in leading software development teams in the banking or financial service industries.
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and technologies.
- Knowledge and previous experience with the technical stack used by Banco Santander International: Front End: Angular, Swift, and Kotlin.
Back End: Java, Javascript, Spring Boot, Microservices, Zuul, and Spring cloud gateways.
Infrastructure: Openshift, Azure, ApiConnect, IIB, and Rabbit MQ.
Database: Oracle and PostgreSQL.
