What the role entails:
Some of the key responsibilities of our Head of Audio will be:
Define, execute, and oversee all aspects of audio production for games and audio's role in marketing content and public relations events.Establish high-level aesthetic and production standards for music, sound effects, and voiceover content heard in games and promotional materials.Define technical requirements for: audio content creation with external content suppliers; design of dynamic non-linear music systems; sound effects and voiceover in the full UI/UX context.Define and regularly maintain the structure, processes, tools, documentation methods, best practices, and all other aspects of the audio workflow with the Audio Producers and relevant stakeholders.Recruit, onboard, and mentor our internal audio staff while also vetting, onboarding, and maintaining agreements with our external audio partners.Define and execute policies and processes for liaising with external providers commissioned to create audio-related content for our products and promotional materials.The Head of Audio will coordinate, collaborate, and liaise with other content creation departments with high-level technical and aesthetic fluency of other game dept.
disciplines to achieve a holistic production pipeline:
Collaborate with game design and math to optimize dynamic UX and player journey.Liaise with animation leads to optimize audio-visual production.Collaborate and coordinate with engineering department the design and maintenance of audio tools and implementation methods.Coordinate with our IP licensing department to optimize strategy for music IP-focused projects.Work closely with the legal department to negotiate music, sound, and voiceover supplier agreements.You will be responsible for driving strategy, performance, and innovation in our gaming landscape.
You'll shape the course of our long-term goals and navigate through changes, ensuring our team sails in alignment with company policies.
Constructive feedback will be guiding performance evaluations and training initiatives that empower our crew.
As a representative of the company, both internally and externally, you'll carry our vision across borders, occasionally embarking on journeys to expand our horizons.
Your role is pivotal in harmonizing our gaming aspirations into a successful, well-tuned reality.
What we ask of you:
Minimum 10-years' experience in general game audio design, production, and implementation.Minimum 5-years' experience in slots/gambling audio design, production, and implementation.Minimum 3-years' experience in people and department management, mentoring, and onboarding.Experience with Internal/proprietary tool design, specification, and maintenance.Experience with comprehensive documentation creation and maintenance for department-wide workflows, best practices, processes, and conventions.Experience with audio production pipeline documentation and project management to drive evolution of workflow internally and with relevant stakeholder departments.Mastery of audio implementation middleware (WWise, FMOD, CriWare).Fluency with WebDev audio frameworks and libraries (Web Audio API, Howler.Js, Tone.Js, etc).Functional fluency with relevant stakeholder disciplines including front-end development, animation, game design, mathematics, game production, IP/legal.Expert knowledge of the process, tools, and collaboration pipelines for:music production across all genres (contemporary and historical/regional).sound effects design.voiceover production (script writing, auditions, casting, directing, editing, post-production).AudioVisual synchronization.
