.About PLD Space Founded in 2011, PLD Space is a high-tech engineering, manufacturing and service-driven company, with deep track record and expertise in space launch technologies. We are a trusted global championing industry leader disrupting the pathway to space access. We are on a mission to reach new heights by making space more accessible, supporting missions that will make us smarter, safer and wealthier. Our purpose is to propel new futures, to enable progress from space and enrich peoples' lives on Earth, by moving new economies, people and world forward. Mission As part of the launch complex team, you will be responsible for the design of launch pads oil hydraulic systems. You will design elements such as hydraulic systems and select valves blocks, cylinders for launch ramp erection systems, cylinders for rocket release systems, etc. In addition, you will play a crucial role in the testing and validation processes, thus ensuring the overall quality and performance of our launch pad oil hydraulic systems. Responsibilities Design and test hydraulic circuits for launch pads, ensuring safety and reliability. Select and size components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, accumulators, filters, fittings, and sensors. Develop hydraulic schematic circuits. Develop and review piping system designs according to technical and regulatory requirements. Develop piping layout drawings. Support manufacturing and assembly processes, providing technical guidance and resolving any design-related issues that arise during production, tests, or mounting. Perform documentation related to test bench procedures and tests. Collaborate with external vendors for the procurement of necessary equipment, components, and services related to launch pads hydraulic systems development. Necessary Requirements Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field such as industrial engineering, aerospace engineering, etc. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position. Proficiency in 3D design software (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, NX, Catia or Inventor). Knowledge of functions, specifications, and characteristics of components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, accumulators, filters, hoses, fittings, and sensors. Knowledge to design hydraulic circuits and schematics using standard symbols and conventions (ISO 1219-1 and 1219-2 standards). Knowledge in calculations of pressure drop, flow rate, and power consumption. Knowledge about the use of instruments and equipment such as pressure gauges, flow meters, test benches, and data acquisition systems to measure and monitor system parameters. Ability to identify and resolve any problems or faults that may arise in the operation or performance of the system. Capacity to design hydraulic systems that meet the needs of launch pad requirements and creativity to overcome any challenges or limitations that may arise in the design process. Able to work autonomously with little supervision
