Reporting to the HSE Manager, this person's primary objective will be to provide health, safety, and environmental advice to management and colleagues.
The successful candidate will fulfill project EHS requirements by using applicable EHS procedures, tools, and methods (safety case regime, risk assessment, HS plans, investigations, reporting).
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Promoting awareness of HMV Engineering and customer EHS requirements throughout the organization.
Reviewing the EHS system with the senior management team as and when required.
Establishing and maintaining the documents and data control system.
Managing and supporting the internal EHS audit plans and coordinating internal and external audits.
Initiating follow-up audit activities to verify audits and record the implementation and effectiveness of the corrective and preventive actions taken.
Reporting the final result of the internal and external audits to the EHS Manager.
Verifying the HSE system manual and procedures.
Ensuring the HSE management system has been fully implemented.
Supervising and monitoring the employees and sub-contractors working on site to ensure their adherence to the EHS Manual, EHS Induction Handbook, and the waste management procedures.
Representing the organization on the project site for any EHS related matters.
Having the authority to stop immediately any work or activity on the project and instructing and assisting management and any subcontractors in taking urgent action to make the site safe and to prevent unsafe working practices.
Carrying out EHS site inspections in association with site staff to ensure compliance with the EHS management system, legal and other requirements, and customer's HSE related contractual requirements.
Conducting incident investigations to determine the root causes and recommend means of preventing recurrence in consultation with management.
Recording and analyzing information on first aid cases, near misses, injuries, damages, and losses, and reviewing the overall HSE performance during project execution.
Conducting the HSE induction training for employees and subcontractor staff on-site.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS: Understanding of ISO management procedures and implementation.
Degree or diploma in health and safety.
Team player.
Attention to detail.
Persuasiveness and resistance to internal and external pressure.
Self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative.
Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
Excellent computer skills - proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
