Context And Mission
We are seeking an experienced HR Officer specializing in labor relations to join our team, reporting directly to the HR & Labour Relations Manager. In this critical role, you will drive the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures while ensuring optimal work conditions and fostering strong, productive relationships with the works council.
Key Duties Manage new employee onboarding and incorporation processes. Handle work and fellows contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards. Administer payroll operations accurately and on time. Oversee offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions for departing staff. Serve as the primary HR advisor and point of contact for Group Leaders and their departments. Coordinate HR processes for students, ensuring compliance and smooth operations. Provide general support to HR & Labour Relations Coordinator, including document management and addressing staff inquiries. Collaborate with the HR team to manage and maintain cooperative relations with the works council. Prepare and create detailed legal labor reports as required. Manage HR data (data entry in the ERP and different reporting systems). Support internal HR projects. Requirements Education: University Degree or equivalent professional experience. Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:
A minimum of 5 years experience in an HR Department, in a similar role. Good skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Demonstrable expertise in labour law and regulations. Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience:
Experience in an international and multi-cultural environment is valued. Experience in a research centre is valued. Competences:
Excellent verbal and written communication (Spanish, Catalan, and English). Planning and organizing skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment. Teamwork and proactive cooperation. Service attitude and flexibility. Conditions The position will be located at BSC within the Management Department. We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, and support for relocation procedures. Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration. Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement. Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience according to the cost of living in Barcelona. Starting date: December.
