Previous blockchain experience, while desirable, is not required and so this is an excellent opportunity for anybody who has an interest in growing their skills and experience in this novel and fast-moving field.
Your mission We are looking for a pragmatic HR Manager to play a key role in establishing a new HR function within Block Co. This role will also support all entities and employees through the employee transfer process in both the UK and Spain. Once operational, you will build and manage a team of People Generalists in both Spain and the U.K. while maintaining strong, cohesive relationships with our people partners.
The HR Manager will be responsible for the development and enhancement of all aspects of HR practices and processes that align Block co.'s goals across all locations. You will also offer high quality operational HR advice across the full employee lifecycle that supports both HR Managers and the wider HR team.
What you'll do HR Operations Setup: Collaborate with senior leadership to establish Block Co.'s HR operations across Spain and the U.K.
Support the transition of employees as part of the organisation implementation setup
Team Management: Hire, manage, and develop a team of people professionals across Spain and the U.K.
Maintain day-to-day operational efficiency with people-related activities and processes
HR Practices and Policies: Develop and enhance HR practices and processes that align with Block Co.'s goals across all locations.
Set up policies and procedures to foster a positive culture and engagement.
Implement and maintain an effective annual performance review process to ensure it meets the needs of the business whilst driving a high performance culture.
Talent Management: Contribute to the identification, development, and retention of key talent across teams.
Review and address learning and development needs through Block Co., researching and implementing training needs.
HR Administration: Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and other HR-related functions.
Stay updated with relevant legislation in Spain and the U.K.
Track and maintain budgets related to people-related tooling, company benefits and training
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Proactively stay up to date with new trends in HR best practices.
Propose improvements to tooling, processes, and delivery of new ideas.
What you'll bring Proven HR experience in a multilingual environment, preferably in the IT industry. Demonstrated success as a manager in supporting the growth and development of direct reports. CIPD qualified or equivalent. Expertise in current Spanish and U.K. employment laws and HR-related legislation. Expertise in the administration of Spanish and U.K. benefits, with the ability to stay updated on benchmark trends. Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Excellent work ethic and a strong team player with a mentoring approach to development. Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement. High degree of adaptability and flexibility to change. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Flexibility with work schedules and assignments. Complete fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Self-motivated, resourceful, and results-oriented.
