How You'll Make an Impact Guide and mentor a multi-disciplinary team to a shared goal whilst looking to develop a new way to innovate and bring new horizons to the company. Discuss requirements with supply chain & procurement and understand their specific processes. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, institutions, and cross-functional teams to solve critical business problems, propose operational efficiencies, and innovative approaches. Communicate and align with other squad leads to ensure that the squad does not work in a silo. Drive adoption of analytical inputs for strategic decision-making. Identify operational risks and enable the team to drive issues to resolution, balance multiple priorities, and minimize surprise partner concerns. Provide the architectural foundation to support the squad. Manage and resource the team aligned to customer needs, providing guidance to the squad on 'what' and 'when' tasks need to be done and let the squad determine the 'how'.
As the squad lead, you will manage the customer relationship. Keep up to date with the latest developments in data science principles, theories, and techniques to support the business in making truly data-driven decisions. Conduct squad quality checks and reviews, driving high-quality standards (e.g., implementing peer review meetings). Document and share methods, processes, and project results.
Regularly communicate and present your findings. You'll be part of an inspiring team of real data science thought leaders and experts within the ED&AA global team and will be a valuable contributor. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: Computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics, or related.
A Master's degree is considered a plus. Subject matter expert with longstanding experience in data science or analytics-related field. Prior people & project management experience (at least 3+ years' experience in leading a team). Excellent analytical skills and profound expertise in problem-solving. Proven ability to identify and consider the needs of the whole enterprise, with the ability to balance long-term strategic goals vs. short-term tactical business goals. Profound experience in product development and design. Deep understanding and experience in different project management methods (e.g., GPM, agile) with cross-sector and lifecycle product development know-how. Important to have industry relevant experience in a related environment (e.g., energy sector), demonstrating a good understanding of the current industry trends. Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills; can navigate easily in a global & multicultural environment. Exceptional leadership and coaching skills to collaborate across multicultural, global teams and develop engineering talent. Open-minded and willing to learn and constantly improve own skills. Result-driven with excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills. Passionate about data and analytics, and driving data value across all parts of an organization and ecosystems. Fluent in both spoken and written English; knowledge of German or any other language is a plus.
