Context And Mission: BSC is seeking a candidate to work on performance analysis, parallelization, and optimization of scientific HPC codes.
We are looking for people with expertise in compilation, parallel programming models, and performance analysis tools targeting parallelism.
Key Duties: Application performance analysis and parallelization Support and suggest application developers changes to improve the performance of parallel codes Document appropriately findings and suggestions Requirements: Education: BSc or MSc in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: Experience in UNIX/LINUX environments and scripting languages An intimate understanding of distributed-memory and shared-memory parallelism Good skills in high-level programming languages: C, C++ and Fortran Good skills in parallel programming models (e.g., OpenMP, MPI) Knowledge on numerical models used in HPC scientific codes Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience: Knowledge about version-control software (preferably Git) Knowledge about profiling tools (e.g., gprof, oprofile, perf) Knowledge about Linux debugging tools (e.g., gdb, valgrind) Knowledge about Python, Java, Perl, or other interpreted languages Competences: Fluency in spoken and written English (Spanish will be valued) Good communication and presentation skills Ability to learn and adapt to multiple programming languages easily Ability to work independently and in a team Conditions: The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department.

Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration.
Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.
Salary: We offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona.
