.Job IntroductionDACB's Health, Care and Public Law Team provides legal advice and training to a very wide range of organisations operating in the health and social care sector, including NHS Trusts, independent sector providers, charities, commissioners, investors, and MDO's.The team is highly rated in Legal 500 and Chambers and recognised as a "very broad range of specialists and all, without exception, first class experts and great to work with".We currently have an opportunity for a Solicitor to join our team to undertake regulatory and advisory work, including coroners inquests, Court of Protection litigation, patient care issues and mental health advice, CQC inspection, regulation and enforcement, and professional regulatory advice.This role is to join our Leeds and Manchester HCPL team, and we would welcome applications to be primarily based in either of the offices. We work collaboratively across our offices and provide legal services to an impressive range of local clients. Of note, DACB is an NHS Resolution panel firm for the North East and Yorkshire region, giving us the ability to offer joined up advice and support to our nominated NHS Trust clients.We offer a flexible, friendly, collaborative environment in a team which has a great track record of development and progression.Role ResponsibilityHandle a varied workload with an appropriate level of supervision.Act as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience.Communicate effectively with a broad range of people including clients, regulators, courts and other stakeholders.Support marketing and business development activity within the team e.G. attending marketing events and client training.Build an awareness of the Firm's other services and development of effective internal and external networks.Handle confidential information in line with the firm's data security protocols.Exercise full compliance with DAC Beachcroft protocols on billing and credit control and demonstrate a high level of financial management in respect of own files.The Ideal CandidateAn NQ+ Solicitor or barrister with a demonstrable interest or previous experience in this practice area or related practice area. We do not expect candidates to cover the full breadth of work undertaken by the team but we do require a clear interest in this area and enthusiasm to develop skills and knowledge relevant to the work we do.An enthusiastic and committed approach with an interest in developing expertise in areas such as health and social care regulation, coroner's inquests, mental health law, serious medical treatment, and information governance.Advocacy experience is an advantage (but not essential as training can be provided in this area).Excellent relationship and client handling skills.
