We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Health and Safety Manager to join our team and ensure the highest standards of health and safety across our organisation. Role Overview As the Health and Safety Manager at JD Gyms Group, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures. You will empower our managers and colleagues with the knowledge and tools necessary to maintain a safe and secure environment, promoting the well-being of our members and colleagues alike. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety strategies aligned with organisational goals and industry best practices. Policy Development: Create and enforce health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Empowerment: Empower managers and colleagues with training, resources, and support to foster a safety-conscious culture throughout the organisation. Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular audits and inspections across all gym facilities. Incident Response: Develop and maintain effective incident response protocols, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions as needed. Data Analysis: Analyse health and safety data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance the overall safety performance. Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and regulatory bodies to promote a positive safety image for the organisation. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring all employees are trained and prepared to handle various emergency situations. Qualifications and Experience Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent. Good experience in health and safety management in the fitness or leisure industry. Proven track record in developing and implementing successful health and safety strategies in a national organisation. Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Strong IT skills. A genuine enthusiasm and passion for Health and Safety and an ability to engage with colleagues at all levels. The role will involve frequent travel within the UK.
