Objective of the position Manage several related, complex organizational units (can be global at different plant sites) with very varied functions (e.g. several purchasing functions, etc.).
Principal activities Support the strategic planning of the division (Bereich) by breaking down or developing the strategic planning for the unit (Fachbereich) within a short or medium-range time frame. Plan and administer the budget in his/her area of responsibility, in cooperation with the supervisor, and ensure compliance with it. Develop and implement personnel planning (including strategic) in his/her area of responsibility, in cooperation with the supervisor; also ensure qualified personnel are hired. Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to associates that report to him/her; make personnel decisions in cooperation with the HR department and the supervisor. Develop unit-specific goals, break down and prioritize the unit goals, follow up on goals, and evaluate goal achievement. Plan, integrate and control different purchasing activities in the regional area of responsibility. Elaborate strategic planning and targets in the purchasing department within the area of responsibility and ensure the implementation for achieving the result targets. Control and implement purchasing activities (e.g. supplier evaluation, conventional purchasing activities, project and process management, supplier management, forward sourcing, contract and risk management, cost-value analysis, etc.). Ensure the sourcing in the area of responsibility. Establish and implement framework conditions for purchasing activities in the area of responsibility. Ensure/conduct negotiations in selected, complex cases; in particular in escalation and as part of the negotiation tactics. Conclude contracts until they are ready to be signed and concluded in the framework of the internal signature regulation, taking into consideration the optimization of costs and supply securities. Ensure continuous observations of markets and competitors in the area of responsibility. Requirements: Professional career: BD Engineering, Economics degree or related. Relevant experience: 8+ years working in the role in the automotive environment. Experience in E-mobility segment (commodities: HV components, metal, mechatronics and electronics).
