The company combines local markets expertise with payment technology enabling global merchants to successfully expand their business into high growth, emerging markets while eliminating the many operational complexities of managing cross-border payments.The Head of Legal is the head of the corporate legal department and is responsible for the legal affairs of the corporation. This role includes providing legal counsel to the C-level, chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and other senior management ensuring the ongoing adherence of the company with all applicable requirements.The position ensures the C-level, management, and employees follow the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, that company policies and procedures are being followed, and that behaviour in the organization meets the company's standards of conduct (the "Standards of Conduct").Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinating and managing projects entrusted to the Legal Department.Developing and maintaining the portfolio of gaming licenses held by the Company.Handling the Company's litigation matters.Ensuring that the Company, management, and employees are in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.Keeping abreast of developments from a regulatory, legal, and compliance perspective on a local and international level.Assisting in the identification and mitigation of risks to which the Company may be exposed.Developing and periodically reviewing and updating the Standards of Conduct.Collaborating with other departments (e.G., Financial Department, Risk Management, Internal Audit, etc.) to direct legal issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.Consulting with the Corporate attorney, as needed, to resolve difficult legal issues.Acting as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that legal issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.Monitoring, and as necessary, coordinating legal activities of other departments.Developing/implementing corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.Experience and QualificationsGreat people skills and can communicate and cooperate up, down, and across the employee chain.Ethical and principled.Proactive and diligent.A strong constitution and extra conviction.Willing to take the lead in setting the tone for corporate integrity.Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong facilitation and presentation skills.Strong project management and planning skills to successfully manage multiple, simultaneous projects.Good organisational/time management skills.Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making.AML/KYC knowledge is a must.Strong ability to analyze processes, enact change, and think operationally and strategically
