.Head of Global Services, Medical & Scientific Affairs The Head of Global Services (HGS) for Medical & Scientific Affairs is critical for the evolution of existing service verticals, for cross-service experience sharing and coordination, and for establishing new verticals within Medical & Scientific Affairs. The role also serves as counterpart for Pillar Leads and Cluster-level Capability Management. Tasks and Responsibilities Leading a team of Team Leaders, Coordinators and individual contributors (may include subject matter experts and service owners) responsible for overseeing and delivering global services. Enabling disruptive innovation of services delivery. Coordinating across service verticals to enable solution delivery. Establishing new service verticals (from business case to implementation). Evolving the service delivery structure. Acting as the counterpart for Pillar Leads and Cluster-level Capability Management. Managing the budget of the service vertical including alignment of local and Corporate Finance. Manage and develop the human capital in the team. Requirements Master's Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Industry, Medical Department or others (PhD and/or MBA is a plus). A minimum of seven years of proven success in service delivery management, preferably in a Big Pharma, internal shared services setup. A minimum of five years of people management in Medical/Scientific Operations (including budget accountability and financial management). Experience in delivering disruptive transformation within a globally matrixed environment. Proven background in continuous improvement activities and business process reengineering. Solid management and organizational leadership skills. Fluent English in written, reading, speaking – due to the global nature of this role, the job will be 100% in English. Excellent oral and written communication, with great interpersonal skills; able to forge trusting relationships within a diverse team. German, Spanish or additional languages would be a plus. Able to apply sound judgment while working independently within tight timelines. Proven success as a key member of a matrixed, cross-functional team of people managers; able to work with people across all functions. High level of cultural awareness and sensitivity as well as customer centricity.
