We are looking for a Head Of Engineering for a relatively new player in Vietnam's ride-hailing sector, but it's shaping up to be a worthy contender in the space.
Location: Ho Chi Minh City
Personnel in charge: 50+
Functions Define and lead the overall technology vision and roadmap for the super app, encompassing ride-hailing, additional services, and backend infrastructure.
Oversee the entire engineering lifecycle, from designing and building robust systems to deployment and maintenance.
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of software engineers, data engineers, and other technical talent.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science teams to ensure seamless product development and execution.
Champion best practices in software development methodologies, including Agile, DevSecOps, and Zero Trust.
Implement and maintain a strong focus on security, scalability, and reliability of the platform.
Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends within the engineering landscape.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and hold teams accountable for delivering on engineering goals.
Requirements 10+ years of experience in software engineering leadership roles with a scale of at least 50 engineers.
At least 2 years working at Head or Director level.
Must have hands-on experience with Golang, strong expertise in backend and system optimization.
Proven track record of building and scaling high-performance engineering teams for complex, distributed systems and delivering elegant, scalable solutions.
Deep understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, and distributed systems principles.
Experience with building and maintaining highly scalable and reliable platforms.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor engineers.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
Experience with Agile/DevSecOps methodologies and a passion for continuous improvement.
Experience leading engineering teams and delving into technical details to assist the team in making decisions that result in efficient, flexible, scalable systems.
Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative.
Problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and the ability to make decisions and deliver solutions quickly.
Highly ownership, Can-Do attitude with dusty hands by working as ONE team over the star player, support, collaborate, and sync up with colleagues and cross-functional teams.
