About the RoleAs it continues to grow rapidly, MotorK is seeking a highly energetic and motivational Head of Engineering (Leading Team Leaders). We are looking for someone who:
Is used to looking for win-win opportunities with an outcome-driven mindset, understanding that outputs are simply a means to an end.Strives to be data-driven, measuring everything that provides insights for continuous improvement.Utilises a Lean approach, using Kanban to represent workflow while employing Scrum as an agile framework.What You'll DoYou will be the servant leader of 3-5 cross-functional teams, empowering, challenging, and providing constructive feedback to help them become high-performing teams.Collaborate with Product Owners and Engineering Teams in building and executing roadmaps, making explicit the technical constraints that can affect delivery time and prioritisation during the scope definition.Liaise with architects and other senior engineers to remove blockers limiting our capacity to get things done.Engage different stakeholders and managers to fill communication gaps and reduce friction, providing reports and insights supported by Agile/Lean metrics.Support career progression by providing mentoring, coaching, and training while identifying next-generation leaders.RequirementsSolid software engineering background, knowledge of modern frameworks, architectural principles, and testing methodologies.Experience in leading a SaaS technology organisation in a fast-paced environment, serving hundreds of customers and growing rapidly.Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful project throughout its lifecycle, including crisis management (while investing in a stable future) and out-of-the-box thinking, while results drive the business.Examples of both inheriting and building software engineering teams, and growing and optimising them.Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, such as XP/Scrum, and Lean practices such as Kanban/Kaizen.Experience in working in an environment that promotes a DevOps mindset, Continuous Integration, and Delivery.Able to explain to non-technical people the pros and cons of a technical approach.Experience in re-architecture processes or building a new architecture from scratch.
