.£57,000 - £65,000 per annum plus Excellent BenefitsHybrid working with occasional travel into our Campuses:- Birmingham- Leeds- London- Manchester- Head Office in CoventryFull-Time PermanentRead the full Job Description here.Arden University:We are an aspirational and multi-award-winning university, delivering rapid growth with ambitious plans to disrupt the HE sector through our passion for innovation and digital education.Our vision is to become the first-choice university for career-focused lifelong learners worldwide, ensuring that everyone, everywhere can access higher education.There has never been a more exciting time to join Arden University, as we expand into new disciplines, forge worldwide partnerships, and expand our locations.The Department:The Hospitality and Tourism Management department at Arden University is dedicated to equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to excel in the dynamic and fast-paced hospitality and tourism sectors.Through a blend of industry-focused curriculum and hands-on learning, we prepare students for a wide range of careers, from hotel management to travel consultancy and event planning.Our programmes emphasise innovation, sustainability, and global perspectives, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of an ever-evolving industry.The Role:As the Head of Department for Hospitality and Tourism Management, you will be a collaborative, inspiring and student-centred leader who is accountable for achieving outstanding quality features within Student Experience and Student Outcomes.Responsibilities will include:- Embedding outstanding teaching, feedback, and assessment practices to support students' learning, progression, and attainment.- Inspiring and engaging course content (including physical and virtual learning resources) and delivery that stretches learners to develop knowledge to their fullest potential.- Delivering outstanding departmental rates of continuation and completion for learners as well as setting programme curriculums that provide learners with the right skills, knowledge, and behaviour to progress into managerial or professional employment, or further study.- Line manage Senior Lecturers and potentially other members of the academic team.- Recruitment of outstanding academic staff in their department and potentially undertake teaching and related duties on programmes relevant to their area of expertise, where possible.- Represent the University and its values, promoting Arden University and their programmes at external and internal events and collaborate effectively with other academic colleagues and key stakeholders.The successful Head of Hospitality and Tourism Management will have / be:Essential:- Masters' level qualification within Hospitality and Tourism Management or a related subject.- Recognised HE teaching qualification and / or Fellowship (e.G.: PG Cert HE, SFHEA, PFHEA QTLS / QTS Secondary)
