Head of Community - Madrid Our community of freelancers and self-employed is the heart of Malt.
Today, the Malt community counts freelancers in Spain, and the community team works every day to be the voice and ears of our freelancer community, giving them a sense of belonging and community, while helping them to thrive on Malt.
As Head of Community Spain, you will develop and execute strategies to grow the number of talented freelancers, ensure they succeed, and ultimately be an advocate for Malt.
As an inspiring and motivating leader, you will mentor a team of community pros to deliver the best experience to our freelancers community.
You will join an international and culturally diverse team of community professionals that share our passion for participating in the future of work, customer service, and strong values.
With a double reporting to the Country Manager or Global Head of Community, you will work in close collaboration with Malt teams across the organisation: Sales, sourcing, marketing, and ops teams.
Responsibilities: Manage the Spanish community team: Set priorities, ensure execution of plan, recruit and manage community managers (1 Community Developer Manager, 2 Community Success Managers).
Champion the needs and requirements of the Spanish freelancers to the global product, marketing, and operations teams.
Grow the community of freelancers in Spain.
Identify the most sought-after skills, and develop creative approaches to efficiently recruit top talents.
Actively promote Malt's community with local partners (alumni networks, coworking spaces, tech communities, meetups, and influencers) and co-build content and events to raise awareness of the freelancing opportunities at Malt.
Leverage existing methods, advocacy programs (Malt Linker, Malt Academy, Referral Program), and content produced with our communication/marketing team (Malt Tech Trends, Freelancer Study) to attract and retain new freelance community members.
Coordinate and manage hosting of online and offline community events, empowering ambassadors to create content, organize events, and advocate on Malt's behalf.
Ensure the team meets and onboards new freelancers, giving them an amazing experience and the best tools and advice to connect to Malt clients.
To be successful in this role, you will need: 8+ years of experience in Business Development, Community Management, CSM, B2B Sales, or other business functions focused on growing and developing a customer base.
At least 4 years of experience in the tech industry, online marketplaces, or the temporary sector.
Strong project management and people management communication skills and proven ability to convince/sell/persuade.
Ability to stay serene in a fast-changing environment, deal with uncertainty, and enjoy meeting a challenge and getting out of your comfort zone.
Spanish native speaker and fluent in English, with the ability to travel regularly within Spain and quarterly to France.
