The role We are looking for a Head of Accounting to oversee and streamline accounting operations, ensure financial compliance, manage audits and tax filings, drive strategic initiatives, and lead a team across multiple entities while addressing operational and regulatory challenges.
Your main responsibilities Oversee the accounting operations for the group, including the holding company and subsidiaries in Spain and Colombia.5–7 years of experience in finance operations, risk and control, or financial reporting, with a proven track record in managerial roles (experience with Big4 firms is highly advantageous).Lead and manage day-to-day finance functions, including Accounts Receivable, Revenue, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Reconciliation processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, accounting principles, and standards.Streamline and enhance the monthly close process and implement improved reconciliation procedures across entities.Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate tax returns, regulatory submissions, and adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations.Collaborate with tax advisors and regulatory bodies to address compliance matters.Resolve operational challenges efficiently, working closely with key stakeholders, particularly IT teams, to develop effective solutions.Drive finance and accounting-related initiatives and projects, including requirement gathering, user acceptance testing (UAT), workflow design, and post-implementation monitoring.Oversee the preparation of the annual transfer pricing report in collaboration with external advisors.Manage cash flow and ensure effective cash management practices.Provide strategic advisory services to internal stakeholders on financial and operational initiatives or challenges.Develop and deliver impactful presentations to senior leaders or large audiences.Coach and mentor team members to foster professional growth and development.Prepare documentation for external audits and address audit-related inquiries.Respond promptly to ad-hoc requests and address urgent issues as they arise.What we are looking for: Strong accounting background (Go-to Expert).Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems creatively.Adaptable and thrives in fast-paced environments, embracing a growth mindset.Proficiency in ERP systems and experience with system development or enhancement projects.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders and leading teams with clarity and confidence.Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.Expertise in driving and implementing process improvements in financial and operational contexts.Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, financial management, and internal control frameworks.Skilled in creating compelling presentations and articulating ideas convincingly to various audiences.Benefits: Flexible working hours.Amazing offices in Sant Cugat, located in front of the FGC Mirasol station.Competitive salary with a permanent contract.Performance-based bonus tied to your team's goals.23 working days of vacation + a day off for your birthday.Hybrid work model with 2 days of remote work per week.Shorter workday every Friday, all year round.Flexible August schedule.Teambuilding activities, celebrations, and off-site events.Employee referral program.Gym discounts.Fresh fruit at the office.
