Job Overview:
The Head of Accounting and Administration is responsible for overseeing all accounting and administrative functions of the company, including financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and office management. This role requires a detail-oriented leader with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Financial Management:
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders, including the board of directors and investors.
Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including tax and audit requirements.
Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Identify and manage financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential impacts.
Administrative Management:
Oversee office management functions, ensuring efficient administrative support across the organization.
Manage vendor relationships, procurement processes, and contract administration.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, maintaining a well-organized and productive work environment.
Team Leadership and Development:
Build and lead a high-performing accounting and administrative team, providing coaching and professional development opportunities.
Promote a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Operational Efficiency:
Optimize financial and administrative processes and systems for efficiency and effectiveness.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure financial stability.
Oversee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in senior accounting and administrative roles, preferably within the financial sector.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Proven ability to develop and implement efficient administrative processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in accounting software Xero and other systems, with a strong aptitude for data analysis.
