DESCRIPTION: The Head, GPSS EMEA services is a leadership position responsible for overseeing and optimizing the Central procurement services supporting our EMEA operations within GPO (Global Procurement Organization). This role is pivotal in ensuring that procurement operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's strategic goals. The role leads a team of procurement professionals, interacts with senior leadership inside and outside of GPO, and implements best practices in procurement to drive value and efficiency across the organization. The role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, extensive knowledge of procurement processes, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to manage and streamline procurement activities and operations across multiple business units, playing a critical role in positioning the procurement function as a best-in-class and a value-adding partner delivering measurable business impact.
Key job responsibilities: Develop & implement strategic initiatives to enhance the efficiency & effectiveness of end-to-end Source-to-Pay processes, streamlining the procurement processes to reduce costs.Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse, global team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture and driving process design and execution initiatives to future-proof the function.Oversee the day-to-day operations of the procurement shared services, ensuring efficient execution and continuous improvement.Engage and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., finance, operations, IT, suppliers, industry experts) to ensure procurement strategies support overall business objectives.Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement process and shared services, analyze data, benchmark against industry best practices and report on performance to drive continuous improvement.Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring financial targets are met.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the procurement processes and shared services remain competitive and effective.Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and prepare & present reports to senior leadership.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in team management.Experience in supply chain.Experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization.MBA.Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
