Position Overview: Dow Jones is seeking a talented Data Analyst with expertise in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to join our B2C data team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, a passion for data-driven decision-making, and a deep understanding of digital analytics. This role will be instrumental in leveraging GA4 & other sources of marketing, web, & app data to create a cohesive set of reports and dashboards usable by a variety of stakeholders. This position will report to the Senior Manager, B2C Analytics.
Key Responsibilities: Utilize Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to track, measure, and analyze key performance metrics across various digital marketing channels, including but not limited to website traffic, user behavior, campaign performance, and conversion rates. Ensure data quality. Prioritize and execute best practices to ensure data validation, integrity, and accuracy across various analytical tools and processes, including GA4, Adobe Analytics, and other data solutions. Combine multiple data sources such as Google Campaign Manager, GA4 and others to provide holistic reporting and deeper insights into marketing programs. Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly dashboards and build new dashboards or custom reports using GA4, or other approved data visualization tool leveraging BigQuery and our Data Lakes. Conduct in-depth analysis of web & app data and marketing initiatives to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for optimization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, across Marketing, Technology, and Product to support marketing and product initiatives with available data. Work with technical teams to implement and manage data layer and data tags to meet marketing and analytics needs, ensuring they provide consistent and reliable data sources. Assist our data engineering team in conjunction with our data teams to help classify our data architecture for use with various reporting and database tools. Be a steward of our data governance and data privacy requirements; erring on validation with key stakeholders first to ensure accuracy of data is provided, reduce misinterpretation of data, and prevent misuse or dissemination of sensitive data. Document and make transparent to stakeholders the data quality, sources, and methodology and requirements of projects delivered. Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on how to effectively utilize GA4 and interpret marketing analytics data to drive business results. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in digital analytics and GA4, and proactively recommend innovative approaches to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related field. Previous Experience in web/app analytics, with a focus on Google Analytics (GA4 experience preferred). Proficient in SQL for data analysis, with a strong understanding of fundamentals, proficient in writing optimized queries, managing datasets, and leveraging advanced features for efficient data solutions. Experience with statistical software (such as Excel, SPSS, SAS), data analysis languages including SQL, Python, and R, and data visualization tools such as Looker and Tableau. Knowledge of Google Campaign Manager and Display & Video 360 (DV360) preferred. Experience with audience segmentation/management platforms (CDP, CRM, etc) preferred. Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content marketing. Knowledge of tag management tools, such as Tealium, Google Tag Manager preferred. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
