ELECTRONICS DESIGN ENGINEER

We are expanding our team at Alén Space, and are looking for a space system engineer; with passion in what you do, talented and experienced; to lead our Mission Control Center team and help build the future of space technology.
You will be part of the Electronic Development Area. This area is in charge of the design of electronic devices and products for the space segment, ground segment as well as support tools (GSE). You will be responsible for the design and verification of new electronic products based mainly on embedded systems.
What you will be doing?
High-level design of electronic devices based on microcontrollers, FPGAs, etc.
Component selection and procurement assistance.
Schematic and PCB design.
Test bench design.
Prototype testing and formal product acceptance.
Generation of documentation related to the designed products.
Evaluation and implementation of customized modifications to existing Alén Space products.
What do we need in our team?
The applicant must be fluent in English.
Two years of experience in electronic design.
Knowledge of digital, analog and power electronics design.
Knowledge of electronic design automation (EDA) software such as: Altium Designer.
Use of basic (multimeter, oscilloscope) and advanced (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer) test equipment.
Valuable knowledge:
High density PCB design (>4 layers).
Experience in signal integrity for high speed.
Design for EMC compatibility.
Knowledge of certain tools for test development: embedded C, C++, python, Bash, git.
Knowledge of ECSS standards.
Candidate qualifications and skills
Work remotely 20 % of the time.
Flexible start/finish times; reduced intensive working hours on Fridays and in summer Monday to Friday.
