This recognition highlights the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to align practices and procedures with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).The roleWe are looking for a research technician with strong experience in sample preparation for immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) in stored tissues (either cryopreserved or fixed). The selected candidate will be responsible for working with our partner hospital to collect samples, process them for either IHC or IF, perform image acquisition, and optimize the image acquisition and data analysis pipeline.About the labOur laboratory specializes in high-throughput image analysis, subcellular proteomics, transcriptomics, genetic screening, bioinformatics, and cell and molecular biology techniques. We are a group of about 10 people from different cultures and countries. We are part of the genome biology department at the CRG, aiming to understand why metabolic enzymes localize to the nuclear environment and participate in specific chromatin functions.Whom would we like to hire?Professional experienceMust HaveMore than 5 years of experience as a research technician.Proven experience in tissue handling, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and image analysis.Desirable but not required / Nice to haveExperience with customizable image analysis pipelines.Knowledge of cancer biology, particularly breast cancer.Experience with Western Blot, cell culture, qPCR, and other routine cellular and molecular biology techniques.Education and training- Certificate of Higher Education as a research technician or bachelor's/master's degree in biological sciences or a related field.Languages- Proficient in English.Competences- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.- Drive and commitment to produce high-quality experimental results.- Strong organizational skills.- Ability to work as part of a team.- Collegiality.- Punctuality in delivering results.The Offer – Working Conditions- Contract duration: Technical and scientific activities contract with an estimated duration of 1 year and possible extension.- Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales
