About BSC: The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain.
It houses Mare Nostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe).
Currently, it is the hosting entity for Euro HPC JU, which leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe.
The mission of BSC is to research, develop, and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress.
BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth, and engineering sciences) under one roof and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.

Context and Mission: The Performance Tools group inside the Computer Sciences department of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center offers an established researcher position to work in the R&D activities and projects.
Key Duties: Contribute to the development of the EXTRAE tool Participate in the group's R&D projects Porting to new platforms and validation Training and user support Contribute and lead research publications Requirements: Education: Computer Science PhD
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: At least 5 years experience developing performance tools Minimum 3 years experience with BSC performance tools Parallel programming models (MPI, OpenMP, etc.
) Programming languages (C, C++, Fortran, Python) and development tools (SVN, GIT, etc.
) Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience: Experience in training and support activities Competences: Ability to work in a team/project Flexible work schedule and availability to travel Good English communication skills Conditions: The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department.
We offer a full-time contract (37 hours per week).
