The Sr.
Manager of Supplier Quality Engineering will build and lead a regional team of Supplier Quality Engineers that lead activities with suppliers to assure quality is built into every component and items meet TE Sensors requirements.
TE is looking to transform and create a best-in-class supply base that will enable a "zero defect quality culture" and significant growth within the business.
This leader will have high visibility with TE's leadership team by providing ongoing updates throughout the "zero defect" supplier transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities: Hire, develop, support, coach, and manage local SQE teams to plan, organize, and implement actions to assure delivery of products and/or services that meet established requirements and fulfill customer needs and expectations.
Coach the team regarding Operational Excellence, Root Cause Corrective Action, Problem Solving, Lean Six Sigma, etc.
Develop and oversee necessary supplier training plans.
Prioritize resources to ensure balanced throughput to meet business and customer needs.
Develop positive relationships and work closely with Sourcing, Manufacturing sites, Product management, and Engineering Leaders to manage and implement supplier qualifications, supplier changes, new product introductions, and transfers.
Lead Global/Regional Initiatives and Special Projects as assigned to support Global Quality and/or Strategic Sourcing Objectives.
Implement plans to drive key metrics, such as cost of poor quality, supplier recovery, defect rate, supplier quality plan engagement/effectiveness, PPAP completion, audit execution, and corrective and preventative action closure.
Manage/support supplier evaluation, supplier selection, approval, and qualification.
Establish relationships to drive quality accountability with suppliers and launch continuous improvement projects with suppliers.
Analyze data to identify chronic underperforming suppliers and establish a rhythm to monitor PDCA process to ensure improvement.
Develop and maintain a communication plan to provide employees with adequate information concerning business quality goals and objectives.
What Your Background Should Look Like: BS in Engineering or equivalent.
5-10 years quality leadership experience.
Results-oriented, driven individual.
Knowledge of Automotive, Aerospace, and/or Industrial standards (IATF, AS, ISO, etc.).
Problem solving/Lean/Six Sigma acumen.
Able to successfully manage challenging situations and generate executive summaries for internal and external customers.
Ability to successfully interact within a quality, engineering, design, and manufacturing communities and the supply chain.
Ability to instill confidence in all stakeholder groups and manage complex supply chain relationships.
Self-starter capable of leading matrix teams.
