At DHL Global Forwarding, we are looking for a Head of Ocean Freight (m/f/n) with Iberian responsibilities (Spain and Portugal) to join our team in Madrid, reporting to the Managing Director Iberia, and based in Coslada.
This position is part of the Senior Management Team of DHL Global Forwarding Iberia.
Main Responsibilities:Directly responsible for the P&L for the Ocean Freight product in Iberia.Lead the Ocean Freight Product (OFR) within the Iberia region, ensuring maximum efficiency and achievement in terms of Excellence in Quality, Productivity, Market Share, and Profitability, following the parameters and objectives set by the organization.Constantly seek to improve services and processes, launching new services and products, generating ideas that help our organization within the OFR Product to be the Market Leader in terms of Volume, Turnover, Profitability, Productivity, and Quality in Iberia.Achieve and maintain a higher percentage market share than our organization holds at the European and Global level.Ensure all product-related personnel have the necessary training and experience to meet the high expectations of our customers.Collaborate in the design of the strategy with the Marketing and Sales (M&S) and Business Development teams for the specialization and implementation of services and products.Define with Performance Management and IT the tools and local developments needed to improve mechanization, standardization, productivity, and service excellence.Keep updated and publish the operating procedures of the OFR product as well as the necessary IT tools related to the OFR product.Produce and keep all job descriptions for the OFR product up to date and published on the network.Set sales prices on the OFR product, relying on M&S market expertise, being responsible for the Iberia Budget for Net Sales, Gross Profit, EBIT.Collaborate closely with branch managers in making strategic decisions for the product.Negotiate and purchase services required by the product, based on local needs.Define, Implement, Launch, Promote, Analyze, and Evaluate the LCL (less than container) product's own or co-loaded consolidations.Design the annual training plan corresponding to the OFR product with the Head of HR.Participate in the recruitment process of key and strategic positions for the OFR product.Fulfil and monitor the strategies set by the organization, as well as customer and employee engagement surveys results.Visit and follow up with Key Customers.Skills Required:Very good analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.Presentation and communication skills.Proactive and able to work under pressure.Strong customer orientation and negotiation skills.Results driven.Change Management skills.Team Management: people-oriented.Good ability to network formally and informally both internally and externally.Extremely proactive and committed.Qualifications:Excellent understanding and background/experience in the Ocean Freight Industry, especially in the Spanish/Portuguese market and customers/providers.University graduate is a plus.Fluent in both Spanish and English; Portuguese is NOT a must.What We Offer:International exposure and working in the logistics leader company.Indefinite contract.Interesting remuneration and annual bonus scheme.Benefits: Car and fuel card, Shares plan optional for the employee, 24 working days of vacation, Life Insurance, Private Medical Insurance for you and your spouse/descendants (ADESLAS), Flexible remuneration plan.DHL CLUB Discount Club.DGF Wellness Plan: Fruit in the office, agreements with gyms and health centers, and subsidized physiotherapy sessions.The position is based in Coslada (Madrid).
