As Group Permaculture Manager, I will ensure all directives on environmental protection and preservation, re-usage and minimum wastage, purchasing and packaging such as the abolition of single-use plastic, social responsibility and all other practices documented in the Sustainability Guidelines are followed in resorts and spas to maintain a harmonious and sensitive approach to our environment and cultural surroundings. I shall also create a group manual on sustainable practices in permaculture and drive this through-out the company.Wellness:I will fully embrace, implement and safeguard the Wellness overall philosophy, concepts and programs such as Sleep With Six Senses, Eat With Six Senses and Grow With Six Senses platforms.Operational Ownership:In this role, I will assume full responsibility for the support of Resort and Spa teams, including the creation of Permaculture guidelines and ensure ongoing compliance and execution and Permaculture Action Plans towards ongoing compliance with Sustainability and Permaculture Guidelines and execution of the approved resort-specific Sustainability and Permaculture Action Plans. This support will involve document review, setting and upholding reporting deadlines, and routine calls to deliver coaching and guidance, site visits and on-site training, assessment of sites, preparation of short and long term action plans including strategies for implementation.Travel to properties will be required as deemed necessary by the General Manager and the Vice President Sustainability.At Home Office level, developing and maintaining relationships with key community organizations and representatives such as local farmers, seed exchange organizations and permaculture networks is an important part of this role. I manage existing relationships with permaculture-related partners and identify opportunities for enhancing existing or adding new partnerships, as applicable. I shall also cultivate strategic partnerships with organizations to receive Permaculture Fund support, and in-kind support from Six Senses hosts, based on guidance around themes and causes from the Vice President Sustainability.By keeping abreast of industry trends and practices and continually updating my knowledge and skills, I will implement the most suitable permaculture practices for the operation that are relevant and in line with Six Senses guidelines. Additionally, I will understand the organic and dynamic nature of permaculture practices - the social, environmental and economic considerations, including their sub-points - and to make these a priority in the operations within all Six Senses properties.A high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene, plus comprehensive knowledge of safety, security and emergency procedures will be maintained by myself and all hosts under my direction in line with brand and statutory requirements.Interaction with guests and hosts will be undertaken in a professional, courteous and positive manner and I will proactively seek, document and action guest feedback.I will play an active role in the Home Office Operations team. My constant interaction with and provision of support to and communication withother departments on sustainability is intrinsic to the smooth functioning of the operation. I will drive innovation for resource efficiency, encourage progressive methods for composting, and act as a focal point for ideas and initiatives on permaculture from resort hosts.I will perform any additional duties given to me by the General Manager and the Vice President Sustainability and attend meetings as instructed by the General Manager and the Vice President of Sustainability.Administration:Reporting requirements for the role will be completed accurately, on time and maintained for reference, including (but not limited to) the collection of all properties' Permaculture Action Plans, Permaculture Performance Indicators, and Sustainability Fund Spending and Impact Reports. The necessary meetings and briefings are to be attended or conducted, as instructed by the General Manager and the Vice President Sustainability.
