Group ESG Legal Counsel Verisure, a dynamic, innovative, and high-growth company, is seeking an agile, talented and experienced Group ESG Legal Counsel to join our Legal team.
This new role has been created to partner closely with the Group ESG team, and support the country Legal teams as well as Group functions, on a diverse set of ESG regulatory topics.

As the Group ESG Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and shaping the Company's ESG efforts and strategy.

The Legal team Our globally integrated legal, compliance, privacy, regulatory advocacy and public affairs team comprises over 100 lawyers and other professionals from 18 countries, across four continents.

Responsibilities Responsibilities will include: Follow closely the ESG regulatory pipeline and agenda in the EU and at national level, and promote an understanding of the ESG environment among key internal stakeholders, including management.
Be the Group expert on EU ESG regulation and related regulatory processes, participate in related advocacy efforts at EU and national level, and manage ESG external legal advisors relations.
Lead in growing the ESG regulatory competency with the Group and country legal teams, by raising awareness, delivering training and supporting on specific matters.
Provide support to countries with national implementation of EU standards and monitoring of national standards.
As this is a highly centralized issue at EU level, the group person could make a significant contribution if they were able to support the implementation process on a country-by-country basis.
Monitor compliance with more technical regulatory obligations, such as labelling and product standards.
Partner with the Group ESG team to evolve and implement our ESG strategies in collaboration with other key functions and the country teams.
Advise the Group ESG team and Group functions on ESG regulation and support in developing action plans and reporting structures for ESG regulatory compliance across the Group, including potential implications throughout our value-chain Support the Group ESG team in establishing standards, best practices, policies, and procedures for key ESG regulatory risks, particularly related to ESG/sustainability reporting.
Assist countries in meeting non-financial ESG disclosure requirements.
Reporting This newly created role reports into a senior member of Group Legal team and forms part of the Group Legal Team.
Location The role offers flexibility in terms of location, with the option to be based in Geneva, Switzerland or Madrid, Spain, aligning with our global presence and inclusive culture.
Starting date As soon as possible.
Candidate profile Experience and Competencies In terms of experience , the ideal candidate will have: At least five years of experience as a qualified lawyer, including with a top-tier law firm.
Extensive experience in EU ESG regulation and related advisory services.
In terms of competencies , the ideal candidate will have: Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and Winning as a Team attitude.
Strong technical and analytical regulatory skills.
Solid business understanding and solution orientation.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work under time pressure.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities, including an ability to communicate legal concepts clearly and concisely.
