Reporting to the General Manager - Safety and Compliance, the Ground Safety Manager - Spain will deliver Safety leadership across Ground Operations, Safety and Compliance activities within Spain and Portugal. This includes Line Management of Individual Station Risk Safety Officers (RSO) to manage the Jet2.com Safety Management System, along with leading effective investigations and the development of effective recommendations to reduce the likelihood of event re-occurrence.With an excellent understanding of Safety Management System principles as defined by ICAO/EASA and UK CAA requirements, the role requires the ability to effectively communicate at all levels across the business, both in Spanish and English, with a willingness to engage with all colleagues including 3rd party suppliers to ensure the continued Safety of Jet2.com Ground Operations. This includes a demonstrable capability to develop practical safety solutions which proactively support Jet2.com operational performance.A detailed understanding of AESA and AENA regulatory requirements and applicability, along with Spanish Ground Handling Regulations, is essential in order to fulfil the Regulatory Requirements of the role.The Ground Safety Manager - Spain will support the Ground Safety Manager - UK and wider Safety, Compliance and Security Team in the development of a clear risk picture during normal operations and change management activities. This will include regular updates on Operations related risks and the measurement of effective interventions. The role will also collate Safety Performance Data and present this at the Spanish Safety Action Group and the Ground Operations Safety Action Group.The Ground Safety Manager will also provide support to the Head of Spain, Portugal and Morocco in representing the business at industry forums promoting Jet2.com as an industry leader. Additionally, acting as focal point for the Management and Communication of Audits and Inspections undertaken by Authorities, Third Parties, and ACMI Partners.The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Ground Handling environment and be flexible, with a willingness to travel both across Spain and Portugal, and also to the UK in order to fulfil the role.
