DESCRIPTION
The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) is looking for a Grid Delivery Manager to own the delivery of the electrical connections (HV/MV substations, overhead lines and underground cables) from the electricity grid to AWS Data Centres. If you like to leverage your technical understanding of large-scale HV/MV grid infrastructure projects from design through energisation phase, we'd like to meet you. Your work will help drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for delivery executions, support financial budgeting and act as the point of contact between AWS and electricity utilities.

Key Job ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for coordinating timelines and activity sequencing with construction, real estate, design & engineering, procurement and planning teams across the full lifecycle of delivering power connections to our DCs, including electrical design; materials procurement; securing infrastructure permits, wayleaves & easements; and infrastructure construction, commissioning and testing.You will lead the engagement with electricity utilities on the delivery of their associated grid works, the securing of electricity grid outages, utility commissioning, the energisation process and the transfer of assets to utility ownership.You will provide regular reporting on project status, risks, issues, budgetary spend etc. at senior management, director and VP level.You will standardize processes and develop tools to support successful grid infrastructure delivery executions.You will support financial budgeting.About the TeamThe Infrastructure Energy team is currently a team of 14, with members of the team currently based in Dublin (Ireland), London (England), Madrid (Spain), Dubai (UAE) and Frankfurt (Germany). The team is responsible for originating, contracting and delivering reliable power connections to our DCs across EMEA.
