Our client, is currently looking for a Grid Connection Lead in the Spain. This is a new set up in their growing business. Ideally based around Madrid, but open to other locations in Spain for the right candidate. Must be familiar with Grid Connection and Power Systems. Competence: Act as a core competence center to develop operation rules and establish management system for on and off-grid business. Act as an enabler to establish the evaluation standards, tools, and methods for on and off-grid's system design and analysis. Act as a Power Grid solution competence center for the EU business expansion Lead to develop the competitive localized solutions and support on the business expansion of Net Zero Industrial Park, wind turbine/ energy storage in EU and Global market. Mission: Enable the client to become a champion in global smart grid field with top-tier operation technology and well-rounded management system. Enable the client to become a leading equipment and system solution provider in Global renewable energy market. Role Summary: This is a high-level technical role within the client's Future Grid Centre of Excellence located in Spain. This role is expected to provide the necessary technical expertise and work with various stakeholders to: Run and enhance the grid code analysis, compliance and testing within the future Grid COE Assess the products and models' compliance against various global grid codes Lead a team of engineers with the aim of providing in-house grid studies for connection of Wind farms and BESS projects. Direct and work with the R&D and product development teams Understand the future trends and requirements in the grid connection space. Play a key role in expanding the technical knowledge of the team. Solve Complex technical project specific challenges. Key Responsibilities: Grid Integration Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for the efficient and reliable integration of the client's WTG and BESS and Hydrogen products in various global markets. Stay informed and drive the evolving grid connection technologies, standards, and regulations. Team Management: Setup the necessary tools, communication and policies with the aim of streamlining the compliance assessment and grid code analysis for the client's products. Support the client in the recruitment of new talents. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and expertise in grid connection space and toward development of new products. Address complex technical challenges related to on-grid and off-grid projects. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the client's products comply with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements in key markets. Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to navigate and address compliance issues. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Utility companies and regulatory bodies to support projects. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in grid integration and product development. Technology Integration: Stay abreast of advancements in grid connection technologies and assess their applicability to enhance the client's product portfolio and project delivery. Requirements: Minimum of a bachelor's in electrical engineering Extensive experience in grid connection engineering, Network planning and operation particularly in the renewable energy sector. In-depth knowledge of electrical grid systems, power system stability, and grid codes. Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders. Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and address compliance challenges.
