We are looking for a SENIOR Control Systems Engineer to support the regional team (Spain) in Tarragona Home Office.
This position supports the E&I department on assigned projects through the following Key Responsibilities: Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems.
Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution.
Develop estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantity tracking reports.
Identify deviations in job scope, estimate magnitude of changes, and initiate trends or change orders.
Support estimate activities.
Interface with project disciplines and client representatives.
Develop and build client relations promoting Client Service Excellence.
Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting.
Assist in the review of vendor lists, preparation of quotation requests, bid tabulations, purchase orders, and considerations for substitutions for technical acceptability.
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff.
Prepare/review scopes of work for third party contracts.
Perform control systems sizing calculations for control valves, relief valves, flow elements, thermowells and other instrumentation.
Create instrument index and datasheets and generate reports in Hexagon Smart Instrumentation database.
Develop intermediate complexity control systems narrative specifications.
Develop basic control systems, cause and effect diagrams, or logic diagrams as required by project.
Represent control systems and participate in model reviews.
Develop specifications and design of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) hardware and software applications; monitor DCS/PLC/SIS design developed by the design group.
Intermediate knowledge of: Specifying instrumentation.
Control systems procurement activities.
Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) representation; can recognize/report problems associated with control systems representation on P&ID.
Developing control strategies and represent on P&ID.
Instrument design and installation requirements.
