Hitachi Energy is seeking a Global Supplier Quality and Development Engineer (SQE) for their transformer business unit.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance supplier performance, ensure compliance with quality standards, and drive continuous supplier development initiatives across our global supply base in the category of conductors.
The global SQE will report to the Global Supply Quality and Development Manager and work closely with the Global Category Manager for conductors to realize category strategy.
Your ResponsibilitiesCategory Quality Roadmap: In line with the global category roadmap, develop and execute a comprehensive supplier quality agenda to ensure sustainable quality in the category.Supplier Qualification: Evaluate the quality management system of the suppliers and align on corrective actions with the suppliers, following up on the resolution.Supplier Assessment (On-site Audits): Plan and conduct the required supplier on-site audits, aligning corrective action plans with the suppliers and verifying the effective closure of these plans.Parts Qualification: Lead the production part approval process (PPAP) for new supplier parts/materials, including coordination of trial parts and first article inspection activities with the factory quality.Supplier Non-Conformity Resolution: Lead the non-conformity resolution process with suppliers in case of escalated technical issues from the factories, ensuring effective root-cause analysis and countermeasure implementation by the suppliers.Supplier Performance Monitoring: Monitor and consolidate supplier delivery and quality KPIs, addressing critical non-conformities escalated from factories and identifying top concern suppliers within the category.Supplier Performance Improvement: Lead supplier performance improvement actions for targeted suppliers to meet customer and Hitachi Energy factories' expectations (following DMAIC and/or 8D methodology).Interface with Other Functions and Suppliers: Collaborate closely with category teams to support the implementation of category strategy, acting as a liaison between SCM, Technology, Quality, Operations, and suppliers to prioritize supplier development needs at a global level.Quality Projects: Complete special quality and continuous improvement projects such as Advanced Product Quality Planning, Lean Six Sigma, supplier manuals, etc.
