Together, we can surpass ourselves and handle any situation.These values capture the essence of who we are and our unwavering commitment to excellence, and give actionable guidance for individual behaviour of employees, leaders, and executives, serving as a compass for how to act and deliver.Job SummaryThe Global Procurement Legal Counsel has responsibility to manage the global procurement contracts and to coordinate the activities of procurement lawyers (internal and external) for the Group HQ and the regions.This position leads the provision of legal and contract management services of the Procurement Department ensuring that i) all procurement contracts are negotiated and executed globally in accordance with the related policies and procedures, as well as ii) legal related corporate initiatives and processes are globally adhered to.This role coordinates activities of global contract legal managers and regional lawyers ensuring that they receive all necessary support in contractual and legal matters related to procurement contracts and that such contracts are concluded adequately to serve Swissport's best interests.Job ResponsibilitiesLeadership Role:Overseeing delivery of legal and contract management services to the Procurement Department to accomplish corporate goals, strategies.Managing the Global Procurement Contracts Team and coordinating activities of regional lawyers who provide support to the Procurement Department in different jurisdictions in the regions.Developing and executing procurement contract strategy, administering the Global Procurement Contract Database, ensuring all agreements are adequately stored in the Procurement Contracts DatabaseMonitoring and enhancing compliance with company policies within the Procurement Team.Legal Advice:Reviewing procurement contracts and providing advice to the Procurement Managers and relevant stakeholders on all matters concerning procurement contracts and risks mitigation.Supporting regional lawyers who provide support to the Procurement Department in different jurisdictions on regional level.
Knowledge transfer and training:Providing, maintaining and disseminating legal documents, information and materials related to procurement contracts to assure compliance, increase knowledge and improve contract management skills.Providing training in procurement contracts, legal issues and internal policies, processes and procedures related to procurement across all regions.Coordination:Working closely with the Procurement Managers in all contractual and legal matters related to procurement contracts, including negotiations of procurement contracts with strategic suppliers.Ensuring that all procurement contracts are constructed adequately to serve Swissport's best interests, develop contract templates and ensure those can be used efficiently at different regions.particularly with respect to compliance with internal policies, processes and procedures Ensuring compliance to policies, working with the global and regional procurement team and legal teams to increase Swissport's 3rd party spend covered by formal agreements.Qualifications and CompetenciesMaster degree in law and minimum eight years of experience, including significant professional experience in a corporate legal capacity within a fast-evolving, international and dynamic environment including interaction with people in many countries and cultures.An excellent understanding of legal and contractual issues (including Data Privacy Laws) combined with an outstanding sense for the business.Strong skills in drafting high-value procurement contracts and legal documentation.Demonstrated ability to understand complex legal concepts and translate those to non-lawyers to create practical processes, guidance and training.Demonstrated success in negotiations of legal matters for complex, international and high value procurement contracts.Strong initiative, as well as excellent communication, management and leadership skills Ability to influence multicultural and cross-functional teams towards a unified direction along with the business's leadership and relevant stakeholders.Strong project management skills with attention to details and accuracy.Result and service-driven individual.Fluent spoken and written Business English (verbal, written, legal, commercial terminology) compulsory; other languages are advantage.
