This role will report directly to the Director of Medical Excellence Portfolio within the Medical Innovation Strategy and Operations team in OBU Medical and partner closely with the Head of Global Oncology Digital Innovation and their respective team. The position will be based in Mississauga, Canada or Barcelona.
Accountabilities/ResponsibilitiesIn partnership with the Head of Medical Digital Innovation and the ODI team, co-create GMA Medical digital strategy, narrative, and vision. Establish operational excellence and governance within ODI and the wider OBU GMA community.Work collaboratively with Tumour medical leadership teams, regions, and other functions teams to provide governance and establish processes to drive digital strategies that maximize opportunities in AZ's digital portfolio, across the lifecycle.Partner with the OBU Medical Business Planning & Operations team to develop agile capabilities across the team and within OBU Medical.Provide support to Change Agent Network of digital strategy and ways of working across Tumour Teams.Ensure implementation of digital strategy and governance in the process of Medical Plan development.Lead implementation strategy for the creation of scalable digital solutions that support the transformation of medical evidence and confidence activities for patients and HCPs.Ensure oversight, project management, and delivery of major programme initiatives that link the strategic directives of Medical Digital Innovation; Digital Capability, Digital Engagement, and Digital Health.Develop effective internal links with other AZ functions including ORD, IT, OBU, and Digital Health teams to ensure the testing, build, and scaling of innovative digital solutions.Partner with other digital specialists to identify opportunities for synergies and collaboration across therapeutic areas / Tumor teams to drive content re-use.Accountable for project-specific medical governance ensuring compliance with AZ SOPs, expectations, and values.Monitor project status and budget and provide regular reporting on progress, recommendations, and estimates for digital tactical plan.CultureEncourage a vibrant, entrepreneurial, and externally facing team focused on the delivery of successful projects and programs that support courageous leadership, innovation, and collaboration. Required ExperienceMinimum of 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related health industry.Minimum of 2 years experience in Medical Affairs, Commercial, and R&D (Global, regional, or local).Hands-on digital expertise, or relevant consulting experience, with digital tactics and channels, specifically, digital health, data & analytics, and omni-channel campaigns strongly preferred.Experience designing, building, and owning end-to-end customer experiences dependent on complex corporate structures and multiple stakeholders.Open-minded and motivated by cross-culture and cross-geographical team working.Experience in planning and leading complex strategic digital initiatives.Experience of successfully influencing cross-functionally, cross-culturally, and cross-brands.Experience with agile ways of working and agile project management.Experience of effective working in a multi-cultural, matrixed environment.Experience working in a global setting, managing stakeholders within different time zones.Experience preparing and/or delivering presentations to executive leadership.Preferred RequirementsGraduate-level degree in sciences, PhD or PharmD.Six Sigma Medical/Process Excellence and/or Project Management/PMP/FPX certification is a plus but not required.Proficient understanding of medical, scientific, digital, and/or commercial pharmaceutical marketplace of Oncology.Core Job BehaviorsSecures commitment from peers/colleagues to adopt new work processes, systems, and approaches to embed change.Able to deliver high-quality work outputs despite ambiguity or a constantly evolving environment.Able to maintain confidentiality, and adapt to change while simultaneously maintaining focus on objectives and envisioning the bigger picture.Demonstrated ability to work across functions and lead without formal authority.Strong collaborative skills: able to work cross-functionally and with virtual teams, to build trust, commitment, and engagement.
