The Global Master Data Specialist has responsibility for the facilitation and coordination activities around worldwide business (enterprise level) material and/or manufacturing master data and/or quality master data. This role will act as a liaison with the EDM Governance group to ensure that the Master Data that is entered into the system adheres to the Global Standards established by the Quality and EDM organizations.
About the Role
The Global Master Data Specialist has responsibility for the facilitation and coordination activities around worldwide business (enterprise level) material and/or manufacturing master data and/or quality master data. This role will act as a liaison with the EDM Governance group to ensure that the Master Data that is entered into the system adheres to the Global Standards established by the Quality and EDM organizations.
You will provide support in identifying relevant material master data and integrations aspects related to SAP and related systems. Works with the appropriate teams to ensure proper controls/approvals through the engineering change (ECO) and Quality Systems are followed.
You will support the collection of material master data from appropriate knowledge sources (e.g. R&D, engineering, QA, Supply Chain, etc.) within the business. The role will be accountable for coordinating Material Master Data across plants, regions and related functions and teams.
You will supervise, publish, and issue status reports and metrics of the processes. Provides beneficial analysis and information for other functions, i.e., Supply Chain and Materials, for more effective job performance and better decision making, through use of Power BI, BW, SAP, and other related tools.
Main responsibilities will include:
Material Master: Facilitates/coordinates the creation, identification, collection, and entry of master data into the SAP environment for worldwide request of finished goods, and local requests for raw materials, semi-finished goods, and supply items.
Manufacturing Data: Governance to eliminate the creation of redundancies in Manufacturing Master Data. Managing the data manufacturing for consistency throughout the Global system. Audit data for Manufacturing assurance and timeliness. Spot checks as well as report reviews. Stewardship to ensure Manufacturing Data classification integrity and Manufacturing Data structure integrity.
Quality Procedures: Governance to maintain the standards around BD's Master Data Quality Procedures. Guide and establish standard methodology baselines on every project and request to ensure they are completed according to our unit level policies and procedures.
Coordinating the requests for finished goods and manufacturing data between the Design Centers and Operations.
Works with project teams and associates to ensure proper identification of all impacted data elements based on change(s) being proposed.
Insures proper assignment of material numbers for finished goods.
Supports the process by training others, ensuring complete and timely communication between contacts.
Responsible to coordinate communication between the process areas and affected sites (i.e. plants, distribution centers, and selling entities).
You will be responsible for the data quality and accuracy of enterprise level master data. And tracks and monitors identified SAP metrics and makes recommendations for improvements.
Utilizes Business Intelligence/Warehouse, SAP, and other analysis tools to generate value added information for Supply Chain/Materials associates.
Follows all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, procedures including RCRA Hazardous waste regulations. And align with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles.
About you
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Business or other related field preferred, advanced level of English and a minimum of 2-3 year of experience in SAP, Manufacturing or Material Master Data, Production, Materials, Project Management, and applicable software applications within an FDA regulated industry preferred. You will also bring:
Intermediate to Advance Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Experience with the creation and maintenance of Excel macros and/or equivalent tools like Innowera.
Medical device products and processes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
ERP systems and integrations.
Quality Systems.
CGMP regulations, ISO Standards, and other governance(s) (i.e. DOT, OSHA, etc.).
