We're excited to partner with a leading global food manufacturing business to recruit a new Global Buyer to join their fast-paced, strategic procurement function. With an annual turnover of more than €1.3bn, 30 local brands operating across 50 countries in Europe and Africa, this is a chance for the right candidate to work in a complex and exciting category with the opportunity to influence key strategic decisions.
The Global Category Buyer will have a key mission: To create collaborative category alignment across all key stakeholders from manufacturing, packaging, procurement and supply chain to ensure a proactive and compliant sourcing process. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate and a chance to learn and develop in a fast-paced function.
Role and Responsibilities This position will be responsible for executing the sourcing strategy for the flexibles category – covering sub-categories such as paper, plastic, film, aluminium foil, lining, rollstock and bags etcManaging a spend of c.€40M – the Buyer will lead engagements with key suppliers – implementing dual sourcing where possible to ensure supply chain resilience and reducing supply disruptionsThis role will cover Europe but with a primary focus on (Sub-Saharan) Africa – working with key stakeholders in the region to improve buy in and collaboration ensuring compliance across spending decisionsLeading sourcing projects across local and regional sites – navigating geopolitical and commodity market challengesSkills and Experience Prior experience sourcing across the (Flexibles) packaging category – with a track record of delivering savingsStrong end to end strategic sourcing experience with the ability to showcase examples of dual sourcing and excellent SRMRobust stakeholder management skills with the ability to ensure compliance through category collaboration and improving stakeholder engagementPrior sourcing experience in the Sub-Saharan Africa region would be a huge benefitProactive mindset and a self-starter mentality with the ability to anticipate market and functional challengesThis is an exciting opportunity for someone to work as part of a best-in-class procurement function.
