Profile: Professional accounting experience in medium-sized or large group of companies, with min 7+ years post-qualified experience. Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and drive results. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to senior leadership and manage a team. Openness towards different stakeholders within an international environment. Experience with financial systems and software (MS Dynamics experience is a bonus). Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software. Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle multiple priorities. Experience with reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and preparation of supporting documentation. Consolidation experience is a plus. Excellence professional proficiency in English is required, and good command of Spanish is a plus. Responsibilities: This role involves managing a team of GL Accountants and covering indirect tax reporting obligations, overseeing daily operations of the core accounting department, and supporting accounting tasks related to indirect tax management and year-end closing activities.
Accounting and Financial Reporting: Oversee daily accounting operations and year-end closing, prepare internal management reports and financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, maintain internal controls, and liaise with auditors and financial professionals. Indirect Tax Management: Prepare and manage indirect tax monthly and yearly closing reporting, serve as the primary contact for tax-related queries, ensure VAT compliance and support audits and communication with tax authorities. Process Improvement and Automation: Stay updated on industry trends and legislation assessing their impact on company's operations, identify and implement improvements in accounting and tax processes, support automation projects, prepare and update training material, assist with new systems, and drive value-adding initiatives across the business. Team Management: Lead, manage and motivate team members, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and employee relations.
